Class V Mirror

As of March 31st 2009, a new European Directive 2007/38/EC will come into effect concerning Class V mirrors on the passenger side. As a safety requirement the angle of glass needed in these mirrors has been increased to provide the driver with a wider field of vision and become more aware of what is around his or her truck.
 

Retrofitting of the new angled mirrors applies to all Volvo FH, FM and FL 6 vehicles as well as all Mercedes Actros, Atego and Axor vehicles built between January1st 2000 and October 31st 2005.After March 31st 2009, vehicles using mirrors that do not conform to the new regulations will be unfit for road usage.

As part of this retrofit, Truck-Lite is offering it’s Class V mirror, which is OE fitment on the Volvo FH and FM vehicles as a direct replacement for the current mirror. By using this product there is no need for any further fixing mounts as the new Class V which meets the new European guidelines fits exactly onto existing fixing points.
